The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership (RSP) is one of three strategic bodies across Wales, established in 2012 as part of the Welsh Government's broader approach to regional economic development. Each RSP advises the Welsh Government on skills provision, identifying regional priorities for skills investment based on employer demand and labour market intelligence.

The main purpose of this report is to provide intelligence that enables Welsh Government and other stakeholders to understand the employment and skills impact of COVID-19 in the region.

This report is the fifth in a series of LMI reports produced by the North Wales RSP.

This report is primarily based on soft intelligence from employer and stakeholder engagement activities along with robust quantitative LMI (e.g. job postings data, Universal Credit and Claimant Count) where appropriate.

RSP Annual Report

The RSP Annual Report 2020-21 is showcasing how we have been driving forward the skills and employability agenda across our region; both in line with our strategic plan and in response to the unprecedented challenges of the past year.

The Board

The strategic scope and influence of the RSP reflects its increasingly important role in articulating skills demand at a regional and local level. The influence of the recent Regional Employment and Skills Plan has been extended to inform a number of policy areas highlighted in the priorities of the RSP Action Plan. To deliver the goals of the Action Plan, formal Working Groups have been established to report progress to the RSP Board on a regular basis. The Working Groups lead and coordinate the operational aims and objectives of the Action Plan Priorities. To date, the RSP has formally established an Employability Working Group, Chaired by Niall Waller and a Work Based Learning Provider’s Working Group, Chaired by David Roberts. The Terms of Reference and Minutes of these groups are also made available.
